While is an active member of the Royal College of Surgeons and numerous other medical societies, Dr. Mohannad Barakat, GMC has a lot more going for him than that. He is, of course, a surgeon with more than 20 years' experience and he has worked in many medical and surgical fields, primarily trauma, orthopaedics and paediatrics. He is an acknowledged expert on issues related to the spine for both children and adults. When he isn’t practicing as a UK-based surgeon, Dr. Mohannad Barakat also does a lot of humanitarian work with other medical professionals with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Their overall goal is to improve the quality of healthcare to the entire world.
Dr. Mohannad Barakat is also a sought-after speaker who regularly gives lectures to audiences worldwide, and he has contributed to and provided review services for many prominent peer-reviewed medical journals, including British Medical Journal. In what spare time he has, Dr. Barakat also loves American football, baseball and ice hockey and has played all three. He is also an avid skier, fisherman, and a ranked amateur golfer who has qualified for several PGA tours.
